High Temperature Technical Texttiles & Insulation

Fiberglass fabrics of different thicknesses are coated/laminated with silicone rubber in different thicknesses. Various silicone colors are also available, the most common being red, gray, black and white. Applications of silicone-coated fiberglass fabrics include oven curtains, expansion bellows, cord protective sleeves, etc.

Aluminum foil / laminated fabric films

Urja dominates the art of laminar filming/aluminum sheets in various fabrics, such as fiberglass, high quality silica, aramid, etc. These fabrics are used in various insulation and protection applications, from the aerospace and naval industry to refineries, HVAC ducts, aprons, gloves and protective suits.

Fabrics with high silica content

Urja was the first fabric manufacturer with high silica content in India in 1992. Today, we have a range of silica fabrics with a content of 50% to 98%, depending on the application.

Silica fabrics are most commonly used in thicknesses of 0.6 mm and 1.2 mm.

The bellows are made with high temperature fabrics, such as silicone-coated glass fabric, glass fabric with aluminum foil, PTFE-coated glass fiber fabrics, high silicone fabrics, etc.

The bellows are sewn in round, square and rectangular shapes, as needed. Length is not a constraint.

Welding Blankets

Welding blankets are used to protect people, materials and equipment from spatters/sparkles produced during the welding process. They are also used to protect the environment from heat during cutting and gas welding.

Welding blankets are made of glass fabrics, high silica fabrics and ceramic fabrics.

Vermiculite-coated fiberglass fabrics are also available. These blankets can be provided with hanging straps or eyelets.

Cable protection covers are used to protect cables and hoses from high temperatures, molten metal splashes and occasional flames in nearby areas. These covers are made of heat resistant fabrics.

The covers are also manufactured to adapt to specific sizes of cables or hoses already installed at the customer’s site.

The sleeves are usually made of fiberglass coated silicone rubber coated fabric. For higher temperatures, fabrics with high silica content and ceramic fabrics are used.

Cable protection covers can be supplied with Velcro, steel buttons or sewn on-site so that they can be installed on cables already connected to the system. These installation methods offer greater practicality.

Valve jackets – removable and reusable

In many industrial sectors, the valves are insulated with insulating wool coated with aluminum sheet. During maintenance, this structure needs to be dismantled, which consumes time and material. To avoid this problem, Urja launched the removable and reusable valve covers.

The valve covers are manufactured by inserting insulating material (usually wool) between two layers of fabric and the entire unit is sewn with high temperature resistant yarns. Generally, cords are provided for easy placement and removal. The insulation thickness will depend on the temperature of the valve surface.

It is always convenient to wear reusable valve jackets for the following reasons:
They are easy to install; They are easy to reuse and reinstall; Reinstallation saves costs and time; and work in all weather conditions.

Gas turbine insulation and insulation pads

The surface of some gas turbines is insulated with the use of pads made of heat resistant fabrics and insulating wool.

The fabric used is usually fiberglass fabric with entwined stainless steel yarns. The insulation is usually done with high density ceramic wool wool blankets.

Cushions/coverages are made of the above-mentioned material and sewn with heat resistant yarns to fit the contours of the gas turbine. These pads are embedded as a puzzle to take on the shape of the turbine surface. Each pad/cover is placed next to the other using shutters through which a stainless steel wire is passed for safe fixing.

The above insulation is removable and reusable, saving time and money.
