Ionic Current Measurement
The Faraday FCB cup, connected to a source meter (Source Meter), is used to collect and measure currents of charged particles, such as those emitted by a source of ions.

The FCB is mounted on a standardized vacuum flange, allowing for easy installation in the vacuum system. The Faraday cup is UHV compatible (ultra high vacuum) and consists of a hollow stainless steel cylinder, closed at the base and with an aperture sized properly for the collection of electrons or ions.

The FCB has a standard opening diameter of 2.0 mm. However, custom opening sizes are also available. The Faraday cup is electrically connected directly to two BNC connectors, which can then be connected to a source meter.
